Price-controlled goods
Some goods sold in The Bahamas are covered by government price-control regulations, which set maximum wholesale and maximum retail prices for the items on the controlled list. Where an item BWA carries is covered by those regulations, the controlled price applies in addition to the price shown in our catalogue.
What price control means
Price control is set by the Government of The Bahamas, not by BWA. It caps what may be charged for listed goods at wholesale and at retail. The two figures are separate: a maximum wholesale price is not the same as a maximum retail price.
How it affects your order
Catalogue prices on this website are BWA's wholesale prices. They are not the same thing as a government maximum retail price, and should not be presented to your customers as one.
Where to check
Always work from the most recent official price-control document. If you are unsure whether an item is covered, contact your branch sales desk before quoting a price to a customer.

Where a controlled item appears on an official list, two separate figures are set. They are not interchangeable.
Maximum wholesale price
The highest price a wholesaler may charge a retailer for the listed item.
Maximum retail price
The highest price a retailer may charge the public for the listed item. It is a different figure, and it is not the price shown in the BWA catalogue.
